Claude pricing plans for individuals run from free to Pro and Max; teams pay per seat, and developers pay per token through the API. On a European account Pro costs 15 euro a month billed annually (18 euro monthly) and Max starts at 90 euro a month. Team costs 20 dollars per standard seat and 100 dollars per premium seat a month billed annually. The API runs from 0.10 to 10 dollars per million input tokens, depending on the model. Tax comes on top of all of them.

This guide lays out the three ways to pay with prices as of 24 October 2026, works through a team of five and a small app, and says which route fits which use. How Claude compares with ChatGPT is in ChatGPT vs Claude; ChatGPT's own prices are in ChatGPT pricing. The pricing page shows individual plans in the currency of your region; the tiers and limits are the same everywhere.

Claude pricing tiers for individuals

PlanPer monthFor whomWhat it adds
Free0anyone trying Claudechat on web, desktop and mobile, web search, file creation, memory, app connectors, Artifacts, up to five projects
Pro15 euro billed annually, 180 euro a year; 18 euro monthlypeople who use Claude every daymore usage, Claude Code, projects, more models, Research, Claude in Chrome and Microsoft 365, scheduled tasks
Maxfrom 90 europeople who work with Claude all day5x or 20x Pro's usage, higher output limits, priority at peak times, early access, API credits to build on the platform

Every plan has usage limits; Pro and Max differ mainly in how much you can do per day. Prices exclude tax, which depends on where you are and whether you buy as a business.

Claude for teams: Team and Enterprise

PlanPer seat per monthSizeWhat it adds
Team, standard seat20 dollars billed annually, 25 monthly2 to 150 usersall Claude features, more usage than Pro, central billing, single sign-on, no model training on your content by default
Team, premium seat100 dollars billed annually, 125 monthlymix with standard seatsfive times a standard seat's usage
Enterprise20 dollars per seat billed annually, plus usage at API rates20 seats minimumper-user spend limits, roles, audit logs, custom retention, IP allowlisting

For a team, more than price matters: in Team and Enterprise someone manages access centrally, and your content is not used to train models by default. What your company agrees about AI use belongs in a policy; see the EU AI Act for business. Whether these tools are safe for business data is covered in is ChatGPT safe for business, and the same questions apply to Claude.

What Claude costs a year for a team of five

  • 5 x Pro900 euro a year

    separate accounts, no central admin

  • Team, 5 standard seats1,200 dollars a year

central admin, more usage than Pro

  • Team, 3 standard and 2 premium3,120 dollars a year

more usage for the heaviest users

  • Team, 5 premium seats6,000 dollars a year

five times a standard seat's usage

Annual billing, before tax. Five Pro subscriptions cost less than Team, but come without central administration.

Worked example: a team of five

Five people who write, summarise and analyse with Claude every day, billed annually, before tax:

RoutePer yearWhat you get
Five times Pro900 eurofive separate accounts, each with its own billing and settings
Team, five standard seats1,200 dollarsone account with central admin, single sign-on and more usage than Pro
Team, three standard and two premium3,120 dollarsmore usage for the two heaviest users
Team, five premium seats6,000 dollarsfive times a standard seat's usage for everyone

The cheapest route is not always the best. Five separate Pro accounts mean five places where company data sits without anyone overseeing it. For a team that handles client data, central admin often outweighs the price gap.

Claude API pricing: paying per use

If you build Claude into your own software, such as an assistant in a client portal or a flow that sorts email, you pay per token, a fragment of text of roughly part of a word. What a token is and how to count it is in AI tokens. Prices per million tokens in dollars, on 24 October 2026:

ModelInputOutputCache readFor what
Haiku 5.50.100.500.01fast, cheap work such as sorting and short answers; above 100,000 tokens per request 0.50 and 2.50
Sonnet 5.52100.10the everyday workhorse for code and agents
Opus 5.54200.20heavy reasoning and complex agents
Fable 5.110500.25long-running agents needing the most intelligence

Batch processing, for work that does not have to finish at once, halves the price. Web search costs 10 dollars per 1,000 searches on top of tokens. Workloads that must run in the US cost 1.1 times the token price.

How to keep the Claude bill down

  • Pay annuallyPro then costs 15 euro a month instead of 18: 36 euro less per person per year, 180 euro for a team of five.
  • Do not give everyone the same planA Team premium seat costs 100 dollar a month billed annually, a standard seat 20. A team of five with one heavy user and four standard seats pays 180 dollar a month; give everyone a premium seat and it is 500.
  • Test for free firstFree is enough to see whether Claude fits your team's work. Buy a paid plan only for people who use it daily.
  • On the API, pick the smallest model that does the job wellSorting and short replies work on Haiku 5.5 at a fraction of the price of Opus 5.5.
  • Use caching and batch processingFixed instructions sent with every request are read from the cache at a twentieth of the Sonnet 5.5 input price. Work that need not finish right away costs half in batch.

What the Claude price does not cover

A subscription pays for usage, not for the work around it. Plan for the time to teach your team good prompts, agreements on which data may go into Claude, and, if you want Claude inside your own software, the build, hosting and maintenance of that integration. On Team and Enterprise Anthropic does not train on your data by default; on personal plans, check what applies. Read the terms before anyone pastes client data into a chat.

Which Claude route fits

  • Choose Free ifyou want to try Claude for the odd text or question.
  • Choose Pro ifyou work with Claude every day, alone or as a freelancer, and want Claude Code or projects.
  • Choose Max ifyou hit Pro's limits every day.
  • Choose Team iftwo or more people in your company use Claude and you want central control over access.
  • Choose the API ifClaude has to do a task inside your own software, without anyone in a chat window.

For the broader question of which AI assistant suits your team, see AI tools for business; the choice against Copilot is in ChatGPT or Copilot.

What we build with it

We built AMOSI, our own marketing software for small businesses, which went live in July 2026. Anyone building an application that uses AI every day learns that cost mostly depends on the model you pick per task: a small model for sorting, a larger one for writing. If you want Claude working inside your own processes, in a client portal, an email flow or an assistant on your own documents, see how we work on AI for business. We work from Ghent, Belgium, for companies across Europe.
