Accounting and tax firms
Website for accountants that clients find before the deadline
Sector pages, your clients' languages, a meeting they book themselves, and a page for every rule change they are about to search for.
Clients pick the firm that already describes their situation.
A website for accountants wins clients in two moments. The first is when a business owner compares firms and looks for one that knows their trade, speaks their language and answers quickly. The second is when a rule changes and they search for what it means. A firm that has the answer on its own site becomes the obvious call.
We work from Ghent, Belgium, in English. For FK Boekhouding, an accounting and tax firm in Ghent, we built six service pages, eleven sector pages, four languages (Dutch, French, English and Turkish) and a portal where clients book their own meetings.
Deadlines your clients search for themselves
- 1 January 2025Germany: B2B e-invoicesReceiving them is mandatory. Issuers with up to 800,000 euros of prior-year turnover may send other formats until the end of 2027.
- 1 January 2026Belgium: e-invoices over PeppolVAT-registered businesses send each other structured e-invoices.
- 6 April 2026UK: Making Tax Digital from £50,000Sole traders and landlords above the threshold keep digital records and report every quarter.
- 6 April 2027UK: threshold down to £30,000A second group of clients has to join.
- 6 April 2028UK: threshold down to £20,000By then almost every small sole trader is in.
Each of those dates is a page on a firm's site: what changes, for whom, and what the client does today.
Deadline pages are the cheapest new clients you will get
Every rule change sends business owners to a search engine. In Germany, receiving e-invoices between businesses became mandatory on 1 January 2025, with a transition until the end of 2027 for smaller issuers. In Belgium, VAT-registered businesses have sent each other structured e-invoices since 1 January 2026. In the UK, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax started on 6 April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, drops to £30,000 in April 2027 and to £20,000 in April 2028.
Each of those is a short page on your site: what changes, who it hits, what to do this month, and your firm as the next step. Write it once, update the date when the rule moves, and it brings searchers for years. The pages that rank start with the answer in the first sentence and end with one clear action; see SEO copywriting for how we write them. For Belgian clients the details are in e-invoicing in Belgium and is Peppol mandatory in Belgium.
What a booking portal gives your front desk

|---|---|---|
| Calls only about a meeting | 30 | 1,380 |
| Minutes on the phone, at 5 each | 150 | 6,900 |
| Front-desk hours | 2.5 | 115 |
| Hours back if 6 in 10 book online | 1.5 | 69 |
Count your own: one tally mark per call that is only about a meeting, for a month. Want more than meetings, with documents and tasks your client can see? That is a client portal, explained in plain words under client portal; the tooling behind a firm is in software for accounting firms.

Our assessment from the work for FK Boekhouding in Ghent: a page per sector, four languages and a portal where clients book their own meetings.
Where to start
- Choose sector pages ifmost clients come from a handful of trades, such as construction, hospitality or medical practices. Each page names the rules that matter in that trade.
- Choose online booking ifyour front desk loses hours to calls about slots. The worked example above tells you how many.
- Choose a second language ifpart of your market speaks it at home. A full page per service in that language often has little competition; see multilingual website development.
- Choose deadline pages ifyou want clients beyond your current network. They pull in owners who are searching right now.
| Page | What it answers | When it pays off |
|---|---|---|
| Service page | what you do, for whom, what it costs | from day one, for people who heard your name |
| Sector page | the rules in one trade, in its own words | when a trade makes up a fair share of your clients |
| Deadline page | what changes, for whom, what to do now | in the months before a rule starts |
| Language version | the same answers for owners in their own language | where few firms write in that language |
| Booking flow | when the client can come in | when calls about slots fill your desk |
Watch out for four things
AI can take over much of the preparation in a firm, from chasing documents to reading invoices, with a person who approves; see AI for accountants and invoice automation.
What to do this month
- Write down the questions new clients ask on the phone for a month, and which trade they come from.
- Check that every service has its own page with the service and your town in the title.
- Fill in your Google Business Profile with services, hours and whether you take new clients.
- List the three rule changes your clients asked about most this year. Those are your first deadline pages.
Do you work with firms outside Belgium?
Yes. We work in English, remotely, and write the deadline pages for your own country with you. Rough budget first? Try the website cost calculator.
Can the site link to my practice software?
That depends on the package. For meetings and documents we build our own portal; a link to your practice software we assess case by case.
Should my prices be on the site?
Show how your fee is built: per return, per month for bookkeeping, or per hour for advice, with what is included. Owners who know the basis call with a question that fits, and fewer first meetings end on price. A fixed monthly package is the easiest to show.
How do I get reviews without being pushy?
Ask right after a filing went well, with a direct link. When and how is in get more Google reviews.
Who writes the pages on tax rules?
We write for the searches business owners make; you check the technical terms and the rules. Law firms work the same way, see website for law firms.
Website design
How VBS builds an accounting firm's site
We build your site with a page per service and per sector, in your clients' languages, with a booking flow that frees your front desk and deadline pages that bring new searchers. For FK Boekhouding that meant four languages, six services, eleven sector pages and a portal where clients book their own meeting. A compact site starts at 1,500 euros; with sector pages, languages and a portal it is 5,000 euros or more, at a fixed price per part. More on the approach in website design and local SEO.
