Your LinkedIn slot, by audience

  • If your buyers are in the UKTuesday to Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm UK time; Monday 1 to 2 pm and Friday late morning are second best.
  • If your buyers are on the continentThe same hours in Central European Time, one hour ahead of London.
  • If you sell to bothNoon to 5 pm in Brussels or Amsterdam, which is 11 am to 4 pm in London: inside both working days.
  • If you post from a personal profileThe same windows hold; a founder's profile often reaches further than the company page, so post the key update there too.
  • If you only post on FridaysLate morning, around 11 am, before people sign off for the weekend.

Why LinkedIn timing matters more for B2B

On Instagram or TikTok people scroll in the evening and at weekends. LinkedIn is different: its audience is at work, opening the app between meetings, at lunch and in the quiet of the mid-afternoon. For a company selling to other companies, B2B in the jargon, that turns timing into something closer to a meeting slot: post when your buyer is at their desk. The figures below come from Sprout Social's 2026 analysis of nearly 2 billion interactions across about 307,000 profiles, measured in each audience's local time.

The UK runs one hour behind Brussels all year. Weekends are the weakest days for B2B.

Posts aimed at future employees rather than buyers, employer branding, can follow a different rhythm; test them separately.

Best time to post on LinkedIn on a Tuesday, and on a Friday

Tuesday is the safest day of the week: the inbox from Monday is cleared and the week's decisions are still open. Anywhere between 11 am and 5 pm works, with the early afternoon after lunch a common sweet spot. Friday behaves differently. The late morning still performs, around 11 am, but engagement fades after 2 pm as people wrap up. If Friday is the only day you can post, do it before lunch.

Posting for a UK and a continental audience at once

Great Britain runs one hour behind Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France all year round, since both switch to summer time on the same weekends. That makes the overlap simple: between noon and 5 pm Central European Time, your post lands between 11 am and 4 pm in London, inside the strongest window on both sides. A Brussels-based firm selling into the UK, or a London one selling into the Benelux, can post once in that overlap rather than twice.

If your buyers sit further away, say on the US East Coast, the overlap with Europe shrinks to the late afternoon in Brussels, which is morning in New York. Then two posts, or one post and a reshare from a colleague in the other region, usually reach more people than one compromise slot.

What matters more than the hour

LinkedIn ranks posts on interest and early engagement, then keeps good ones in circulation for days. The hour decides how quickly the first comments arrive; what keeps the post going is whether people stop and respond. Comments from people in your field weigh heavily, which is why a post from a founder's own profile can travel further than the same post from the company page; building that profile is personal branding. How the ranking works in 2026 is in the LinkedIn algorithm in 2026, and setting up the page itself in how to create a LinkedIn company page. Portrait images take more room in the feed; sizes are in social media image sizes.

Finding your own best slot

Your own page analytics beat any average. For a month, post the same kind of update at different hours across Tuesday to Thursday, note the time of each, and compare impressions, reactions and, above all, clicks and messages. Plan it in a content calendar, and set the goals the posts serve in a social media plan. For lead generation on LinkedIn, one post that brings two conversations beats ten that bring likes. Timing on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook is covered in the best time to post on social media.

Short questions on LinkedIn timing

Is the weekend a bad time to post on LinkedIn?

For B2B, yes: weekends are the weakest days on average. If you test a weekend slot, compare it with your weekday posts before you keep it.

Does it matter if I post at 8 am or 9 am?

Less than the day and the content. Early mornings score below the late morning on average; if you post early, stay around to answer the first comments.

Should I post on LinkedIn every day?

Two to three good posts a week usually do more than five rushed ones. LinkedIn keeps a strong post in circulation for days.
