Industries: window cleaners

Window cleaning software that knows your round street by street

Window cleaning software: a phone with the day's round and the card of a house, beside an AI proposal that counts windows from a customer's photos, labelled Example with demo data

Your round on the phone in the order of the streets, a card per house with windows and access, and customers who pay before you are back in the van. Built around the way you already work.

Window rounds are a business of addresses

Window cleaning software starts with your round. At quarter to eight you are on Bramcote Lane in Beeston, half an hour later two doors down, at ten on a shop front on the High Road and after lunch on a conservatory in West Bridgford. Anyone coming back every four, six or eight weeks carries hundreds of addresses in their head, each with its own gate, its own dog and its own price.

For many window cleaners that round lives in a book or a spreadsheet, and the money in a tin of notes and a banking app. When it rains on Monday, the texting starts. When a customer is out for the inside clean, the round slips. A system of your own keeps the round, the customers and the money together, on the phone in the van.

Round order and house card on the phone

  • The round follows the streetsHouses on the same road sit together, so the van is not crossing town between two customers.
  • A card for every houseWindow count, the gate, the dog and the agreed price stay with the address, even when someone else covers the round.
  • Rain moves the roundIf a day slips, that day's customers get a message with the new date without anyone ringing round.

The addresses and details in this example are made up. You choose what goes on each house's card.

Window cleaners lose money off the ladder

A window cleaner loses little time with the pole in hand. The time goes on everything around it: a round that zigzags between Chilwell and Arnold, the customer who forgets to pay, fifteen messages after a wet day.

MomentHow it often goesWith a system of your own
Building the roundA book per month, sorted by feelThe round follows the streets, with each customer's frequency built in
At the doorRemembering how to get round the backThe card shows windows, gate, dog and method
Inside cleansCustomer out, rebook by textA message the day before that the customer confirms
RainTexting everyone by handThe day moves and customers get the new date automatically
PaymentCash, a note through the door, a transfer some dayA payment link after the clean, a reminder if nothing arrives
ExtrasGutters or solar panels agreed on the doorstepA quote from the card, with a photo, that the customer accepts

The card per house is a small custom CRM, built around an address and a frequency rather than a sales pipeline. The clean itself, with photo and payment, works like a work order app. If your round still lives in a spreadsheet, replace Excel with software explains when the move pays off.

Customer photos counted into a round proposal

Built on invented photos. The AI counts and proposes from your price list, you approve.

Pricing jobs from photos, with you setting the price

A new customer asks what it costs. You used to drive round to count the windows. Now the customer can send three photos of the house. AI counts the windows, spots the dormer and the conservatory, suggests whether a water-fed pole will reach and finds which round the address fits.

What comes out is a proposal with numbers. You set the price from your own list and decide whether it goes out. If the photo hides something, such as a roof that needs a cherry picker, you change it. How that groundwork runs is set out on AI quote generator. Customers asking when you are next due can get their answer from AI too, as on AI customer service.

  3. 3A form that asks house type, window count and frequency

The window cleaners, reviews and enquiry shown here do not exist.

Householders search for a window cleaner nearby

People look for a window cleaner close to home. Someone in Chilwell types window cleaner Beeston, checks the stars and fills in a form. A new house on a street where you already clean ten is worth more than one across the county. Your site can steer that.

It starts with a page per town on your round and a Google Business Profile with photos of real work. Reviews are easiest to ask for with a link you send after the clean; make one with the Google review link generator. More in local SEO tips and on local SEO. Working on your own, a compact site like those under web design for freelancers is often enough, and website cost in the UK shows what to expect.

Have the form ask for house type, window count, any conservatory or skylight, and how often. With a postcode you see straight away whether the house fits a round you already run.

Trial day on the round for a new window cleaner

The applicants and names are made up. You decide what the form asks.

Pole hands are hired on the round, not from a CV

You rarely find a good window cleaner through a CV. You find one by taking them out on the round for a day. A vacancy on your site that asks three things, a name, whether they have used a water-fed pole and when they could come out, fits the trade better than a job board with ten fields.

Say what you offer as well: a van with a pure water system, a settled round, paid work at height training. That story as an employer is employer branding. The app itself can be a PWA that runs on any phone without an app store; if you need more, we build a full app.

Window cleaning firms from one van to five

A window cleaner working alone does not need a planning board. A firm with four vans and an office needs more than a round book. The table sets out a first build per size.

SizeWhat you needWhat you do not need (yet)
Sole traderA page per town, a Google profile, your round and cards on the phone, payment linksA planning board, roles and permissions, an ERP
Team of fiveRounds per van, rain-day messages, payments per customer, cards any colleague can readAn accounting module of your own
20 to 50 staffRounds per area, commercial contracts for shops and offices, a dashboard with takings per roundA package built for cleaning in general
Larger firmGlass, cladding and solar panels as separate services, cherry picker servicing, a portal for managing agentsA second system beside the first

If you also clean offices or communal areas, see what we build for cleaning companies. How a board for several vans and staff works is on staff scheduling software.

Ladders, licences and tax rules on the round

A window cleaner works at height, sometimes with staff, and more and more under digital tax rules. These are the rules that come back most in your cards and records.

SituationWhat the rule asksWhat the software does
Working at heightWork at Height Regulations 2005: avoid working at height where you can, which is why most rounds now use water-fed poles from the groundEach house card records the method: pole, ladder or cherry picker, and why
Rounds in ScotlandSome Scottish councils license window cleaners under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982The licence and its renewal date sit with the round
Taking on staffEmployers' liability insurance with cover of at least £5mThe certificate and renewal date are in the system
Paying staffNational Living Wage of £12.71 from 1 April 2026 and £13.21 from 1 April 2027; travel time between customers counts as working timeHours include the drive between houses, and the app flags pay under the rate
Sole trader incomeMaking Tax Digital for Income Tax above £50,000 qualifying income since 6 April 2026, £30,000 from 2027 and £20,000 from 2028Takings per clean are recorded digitally, ready for quarterly updates
Invoices to businessesPeppol e-invoicing between businesses from 1 April 2029Shops and offices get invoices that are ready for the switch

How e-invoicing will work is covered in e-invoicing in the UK. If you are just setting up, start a cleaning business in the UK also covers window rounds.

That is 6.5 hours a week, or 299 hours over 46 weeks. At £30: 299 x 30 = £8,970 a year. Add the cleans that never got paid: 2 x 20 x 46 = £1,840. Together £10,810 in this example. Round owners usually ask three things

Can I bring my customer list across from a spreadsheet or a book? Yes. We move your addresses, frequencies and prices into the new system. If it is all on paper, we type it up with you before the first round.

Does the app work without signal? That is a design choice, and we can make it. The round and cards sit on the phone, and what you enter goes through as soon as there is signal again.

Can customers pick their own frequency or skip a clean? Yes. Through a link they choose four, six or eight weeks, skip a visit or add the inside. You see it on the round. A site to go with it starts from 1,500 euro, as on website design.

Window round software starts with a real month

  1. A conversation about your roundHow many customers, which frequencies, how do they pay, what happens when it rains? We go through a real month of your round together.
  2. A fixed price per projectWe pick the part that costs you the most time and give a fixed price for it. Sites begin at 1,500 euro, and any software is quoted after we have spoken.
  3. One round runs on it firstYou or a team member use the first version for a few weeks on a real round. What does not fit gets changed. The code and the customer list stay yours.

No window cleaner is a client of ours yet; what we can point to is the planning board at DA Logistics, which has flagged clashes and proposed its own fixes every day since July 2026 alongside an app for people on the road, built as custom software.
