HubSpot costs per seat per month: nothing on Free, 20 euro on Starter (7 euro on a time-limited offer), 90 euro on Professional and 175 euro on Enterprise, billed annually and before VAT. From Professional up, onboarding is mandatory. A team of five therefore pays 1,200 euro in year one on Starter at list price, or 5,400 euro plus onboarding on Professional.
HubSpot now sells one customer platform per seat and per edition, with marketing, sales and service together. That makes the pricing tiers easier to read than a few years ago, but there are three jumps you only notice as you grow: the ten-user cap on Starter, the mandatory onboarding from Professional, and the credits that power AI and automation. This guide lays them out, works through five and fifteen seats, and puts HubSpot next to Pipedrive and a custom CRM. For what other CRMs cost per user, see CRM cost per month.
Prices here are the euro prices HubSpot shows for a European account. In the UK HubSpot bills in pounds and in the US in dollars; the editions, caps and onboarding rule are the same.
HubSpot pricing tiers per seat
Per seat per month on annual billing, before VAT, on 24 October 2026:
| Edition | Per seat per month | Users | Credits per month | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 euro | up to 2 users | none | anyone organising contacts, companies and deals without paying |
| Starter | 20 euro, now 7 euro on a limited offer | up to 10 users | 5,000 | a small team that wants email campaigns, simple automation and site chat |
| Professional | 90 euro | extra seats at 90 euro | 10,000 | a team that needs advanced automation, campaigns and quotes |
| Enterprise | 175 euro | extra seats at 175 euro | 15,000 | larger organisations with multi-level teams and strict permissions |
What each edition adds, briefly. Free: contacts, companies, deals, activities and two-way sync with dozens of apps. Starter adds email and chat support, targeted email campaigns, calling, meeting recording and website chat. Professional adds advanced automation, social media, campaigns, AI-built quotes and a help desk. Enterprise adds multi-level teams, a sandbox, field-level permissions and connecting several HubSpot accounts.

What a team of five or fifteen pays in year one
Our own worked example on annual billing, before VAT. Onboarding is listed separately because HubSpot sets the amount in your quote.
| Edition | 5 seats, year one | 10 seats, year one | 15 seats, year one | On top |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, list price | 1,200 euro | 2,400 euro | not possible, max 10 | no mandatory onboarding |
| Starter, offer price | 420 euro | 840 euro | not possible | the offer ends |
| Professional | 5,400 euro | 10,800 euro | 16,200 euro | mandatory onboarding |
| Enterprise | 10,500 euro | 21,000 euro | 31,500 euro | mandatory onboarding |
The jump that catches teams out is ten to eleven users: Starter cannot go further, and the next step is Professional at 90 euro per seat plus onboarding. A team growing from ten to eleven people goes from 2,400 euro to 11,880 euro a year, before onboarding.
Three jumps in the small print
- The ten-user cap on Starter. Beyond it you move to Professional, even if you do not use its extra features.
- Mandatory onboarding from Professional. HubSpot requires it so you start well with its training programmes; the amount is in your quote and is paid once on top of year one.
- Credits. Each edition includes a monthly allowance of HubSpot Credits used by AI features and part of the automation. Use more and you buy extra credits.
On top come the costs every CRM has: moving contacts and history, integrations with accounting or your website, and your own team's hours to learn and maintain the system. Connecting HubSpot to accounting or your website without retyping is covered in Make, Zapier or n8n; what a CRM does in its glossary entry. We build integrations and software around a CRM ourselves; see custom software.
Features most small teams never use
HubSpot is broad: marketing, sales, service, content and a website builder in one platform. Many small teams pay for Professional and use two or three features. After a few months, check in your own account what you actually use:
| Feature | Edition | Does a team of five use it? |
|---|---|---|
| Contacts, companies, deals | Free | yes, this is the core |
| Email campaigns to a list | Starter | often, though a separate email tool also does it |
| Advanced automation and workflows | Professional | sometimes, and often the reason to upgrade |
| Managing social media | Professional | rarely; most teams post directly |
| Help desk and tickets | Professional | only with a support team |
| Sandbox and field-level permissions | Enterprise | almost never in a small business |
If you mostly use the core and a pipeline, a cheaper CRM is often enough. The alternatives per use case are in HubSpot alternatives. If a broader package with invoicing and stock appeals, read Odoo or Teamleader, and whether Odoo's free version is enough in is Odoo free.
HubSpot against Pipedrive and a custom CRM over three years
For a team of five, middle plan, annual billing, before VAT and one-off costs:
| Route | Per year | Three years | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Starter, list price | 1,200 euro | 3,600 euro | CRM, email, chat, simple automation, up to 10 users |
| HubSpot Professional | 5,400 euro | 16,200 euro, plus onboarding | everything in Starter plus advanced automation, campaigns, help desk |
| Pipedrive Growth | 2,340 euro | 7,020 euro | a sales pipeline with email sync and automations |
| Custom CRM | no licence | the build price, plus hosting and upkeep | exactly your own process, no per-seat fee |
Pipedrive is built around a sales pipeline and stays simple; HubSpot is stronger in marketing automation and has a larger library of integrations. A custom CRM only pays off with many users who each do a small part, or a process no package fits; when that is the case is on custom CRM development. The CRM-versus-ERP question is in CRM vs ERP, and the Benelux favourite compared in Teamleader alternatives.
Can you use HubSpot for free?
Yes, for two users and the core: contacts, companies, deals and activities. For a freelancer or a duo that is a real option. Once you want email campaigns, automation or more users, you pay. What the free version does and does not do is in is HubSpot free. If the CRM also has to drive your marketing automation and your website, that usually decides the edition more than the seat price does.
A HubSpot pricing calculator you can do on paper
- Count the people who need a seat. Not everyone who looks at a report needs one.
- Pick the edition per need, not per wish. Automation and campaigns mean Professional; a pipeline and email can live on Starter.
- Multiply seats by the annual price by twelve. Use the list price, not the offer.
- Add onboarding from Professional up, as quoted.
- Check the ten-user line. If you will be eleven next year, price Professional now, or compare an alternative.
For the tax treatment of licences and onboarding, ask your accountant.
