Web design in Dendermonde

Web design for a professional office: the office of an accounting firm in Ghent, from a shoot VBS did for their site

Sites for lawyers, accountants and practices in the court town on the Scheldt, for clients in Dutch and in English.

A court town with many offices

Web design in Dendermonde is often a site for an office. Dendermonde has 47,828 residents and is a court town: the courthouse draws lawyers, bailiffs, notaries and accountants, and their clients come from the whole judicial district. At the end of 2025, 4,197 companies had their seat in the town. Professional and technical services were the largest group with 806, and within them 140 offices for legal and accounting services. On top of that, 157 businesses in health care, from GPs to physiotherapists.

For those professions a site is not a shop window but a first conversation. A client looking for a lawyer or accountant has a problem and wants to know whether you can solve it, how fast and at what price. At the same time your profession has rules about what you may say and what must be on your site. This page is for professionals in Dendermonde who work in English as well: a lawyer who advises expats and international companies, an accountant whose clients include foreign founders, a practice that treats patients who do not speak Dutch. It says how to reconcile those rules with what clients look for, which languages to offer, what it costs, and what we built for offices that work the same way.

A practice site in three layers

  • What the profession asksYour company number, your title and where you are registered, as your professional body prescribes. No promises about results.
  • What the client looks forWhat they can come to you for, how a first meeting goes, roughly what it costs and how to book one.
  • What Google readsA page per service with its own title, your address in Dendermonde, your hours and a profile that matches your site.
  • What builds trustWho works there, with photo and role, and how you handle clients' data.

Which details are mandatory exactly is set by the rules of your own profession. Check them with your professional body or your adviser.

What your profession asks

Every profession has its own rules for its site. Lawyers follow the rules of their bar, accountants and tax advisers those of the ITAA, notaries those of their chamber, health professions those of their order or the law on advertising. They differ in the details, but have three things in common.

  • Mandatory detailsYour company number, your title and where you are registered. What is mandatory for every company is in company number on your website.
  • Inform, do not lureNo promises about the outcome of a case, no discounts that draw patients or clients, no comparisons with colleagues.
  • ConfidentialityA contact form asks no more than needed, and you say what you do with the data; see do I need a privacy policy.

Which details apply exactly is in the rules of your own profession. Put doubts to your professional body, or to a lawyer. We build the site so those details are right on every page and you change them in one place. The rules apply to every language version of your site: an English page carries the same title, registration and company number as the Dutch one.

What the client looks for

A client of a lawyer in Dendermonde rarely types just 'advocaat dendermonde'. They type 'advocaat echtscheiding dendermonde' (divorce lawyer), 'boekhouder starter dendermonde' (accountant for a starter) or 'notaris erfenis' (notary for an estate). A site with a page per area of law or service is found on all those questions; a site with a list of areas on one page on none.

  • Choose a page per area or service ifyou do more than one thing. Each page explains in plain words what you do, for whom, and how a first meeting goes.
  • Choose online booking ifyour phone mostly serves to make or move appointments. That way a client books in the evening themselves.
  • Choose a client portal ifyour clients deliver or follow documents. Then the emails with attachments disappear.
  • Choose a price indication ifyour profession allows it: how you charge, whether a first meeting costs anything. A client in doubt calls the office that says something.

What such a site looks like for your profession is on website for law firms, website for accountants and website for therapists. How a lawyer gets found better is on SEO for law firms.

Clients who search in English

Many professional offices in Flanders now have clients who prefer English: expats buying a house, foreign founders setting up a company, employees of international firms with a tax or employment question. They search in English, often with 'belgium' instead of the town, and choose the office that explains its service in their language.

WhoWhat they searchWhat your English page needs
An expat with a legal questionthe area of law plus 'lawyer belgium' or the townwhat you handle, in which languages you can advise, how a first meeting goes
A foreign founder'accountant belgium', 'start a company in belgium'the steps you take over, what it costs, which documents to bring
An international employeea tax or employment question in Englisha page per question, answered in the first sentence

Only offer English where you can also answer in English: a page that promises advice in English and a phone that only answers in Dutch costs you the client. Each language is its own version with its own titles; see multilingual website development.

An accounting firm and a law firm, in four languages

For an accounting and tax firm in Ghent we built a site in four languages with six service pages, eleven sector pages and a client portal where clients book an appointment themselves. For a legal and strategic firm, a site in four languages with ten service pages and twelve sector files.

Both offices are in Ghent, not Dendermonde. But an office in Dendermonde needs exactly those parts: a page per service, the mandatory details on every page, and a way to book an appointment without calling, in Dutch and, where your clients need it, in English.

Starting in Dendermonde

If you start an office or business in Dendermonde, the town's Starterspunt helps with questions about setting up, permits and the first steps. We found no starter grant or subsidy for entrepreneurs of its own on dendermonde.be, and we would rather say so than promise something. In 2025, 396 companies started and 410 stopped. Whether Flanders still contributes to a digital project is in Flanders digitalisation grants; do not count on too much, because the SME wallet ends on 1 January 2027.

What an office site costs

Office or practiceWhat has to be on the siteRange in Belgium, excluding VAT
Self-employed professional just startingwho you are, your title, contact500 to 1,500 euros
Law or accounting firma page per area or service, mandatory details2,000 to 6,000 euros
Office where clients book themselvesa booking module or client portal on topat the top of that range or above

Hosting and updates come on top each year, also to keep the mandatory details current. An English version is mostly writing work: its own pages, titles and confirmation emails. A custom office site starts at 1,500 euros with us, and after a meeting at your office the price is fixed. In the website cost calculator you see what a booking module adds. Whether you may spread the cost of your site in your accounts is in capitalise website costs; check it with your accountant.

What a client reads before calling

Someone looking for a lawyer or accountant usually reads three things: whether you know their problem, how a first meeting goes and what it costs them. A page that answers those three questions per service, in plain words and without jargon, brings more calls than a long list of specialisms.

Mistakes on office sites

  • An 'Areas of law' page with twenty words per areaNobody finds you on those words.
  • A photo of a gavel or scalesShow your office and your team; that builds trust.
  • A contact form that asks too muchAsk for name, phone and a short description, not the whole file.
  • No Google Business ProfileSomeone typing 'advocaat dendermonde' sees the map first; see create a Google Business Profile.

Along the Scheldt, half an hour away

Dendermonde is 35 kilometres from the Sint-Baafsplein, 33 minutes by car; the direct train takes 23 to 37 minutes. We hold the first meeting at your office, in English or Dutch, so we see how clients come in. The sites we made for the two firms above show what to expect; the way we work is at website design. More on the rest of the province is in web design in East Flanders.

Dendermonde questions about an office site

What must the website of a lawyer or accountant in Dendermonde contain?

Your company number, your title and where you are registered, a page per service or area of law in plain words, how a first meeting goes, a way to book an appointment and a privacy policy. Which details apply exactly is in the rules of your profession.

May I put prices on my site?

For most professions you may say how you charge, as long as it is fair and not misleading. Check the rules of your professional body or institute before you publish amounts.

Should my office site have an English version?

If you advise expats, foreign founders or international employees and can answer them in English, yes: a page per service in English reaches them. If not, put the effort into your Dutch pages.

How long does an office site take?

A small-business site is often ready in four to eight weeks. The copy per service sets the pace more than the build.

Is there a grant for a website in Dendermonde?

On the town's site we found no grant for entrepreneurs. The Starterspunt does help with the first steps.
