Price and calculator

Website cost calculator: where does your site fall?

Pages, languages, features and content decide the price. Pick yours, see where you land, and compare it with what agencies charge in your market.

Website cost calculator: the request form on villalidiaumbria.com, a site we built, which totals the price of a stay as guests pick their dates

What does a website cost for your business?

What kind of site do you need?

How many pages?

A one-pager has one page, so this question drops out.

In how many languages?

Every language gets its own copy and its own search terms.

What should your site be able to do?

Pick what you need, or nothing.

Copy and images

If you supply everything yourself, you see that in the price.

A contact form, a site that works on a phone and your own access to Google Search Console are always included.

Why one site costs more than another

This website cost calculator places your site on the one price range we work with. The price does not follow the number of buttons but what the site has to bring in. If a client only needs to find you and call, one strong page does it. If you want to be found on every service, every sector and every city you work in, each search term needs its own page, with its own copy and title.

Languages come on top, because a French-speaking client searches with other words than a Dutch-speaking one, and so do features: a booking calendar, a calculator or a client portal is its own piece of work. Copy written on your search terms and your own photo shoot make the difference between a site that exists and a site that works. You get a fixed price per part, not an hourly rate that keeps running.

What a website costs, in Belgium and in your market

Few agencies publish prices. In Belgium, where we build, these are the ranges you will meet in 2026, next to ours:

Kind of siteBelgian marketWith VBS
Brochure site or one-pager500 to 1,500 eurosfrom 1,500 euros, designed and built for you, not on a theme
Business site with a page per service2,000 to 6,000 eurosbetween 1,500 and 5,000 euros for a few pages in one language; 5,000 euros or more with many pages or languages
Webshop4,000 to 15,000 euros or more5,000 euros or more, depending on catalogue, payment and shipping
Paying by the hourfreelancers 30 to 80 euros, agencies 50 to 150 eurosno hourly rate: a fixed price per part, after a call

Elsewhere, hourly rates are the only public yardstick. Senior freelance developers ask 78 to 125 dollars an hour in the UK, 80 to 125 in the Netherlands, 85 to 140 in Germany and 95 to 150 in the United States; a UK contract web developer's median day rate is 475 pounds. Our page for a web development agency in Europe puts agency rates per market side by side, and web developer hourly rates goes deeper.

What you get at each point of the range

Save on the number of pages rather than on their quality. A small site that loads fast and aims at the right search terms brings in more than a large one nobody finds.

Four real sites on the scale

Sites we built, from one page to a site with calculators.

What you pay every year after launch

CostWhat it isWhat it costs
Domain nameyour address, in your namea few tens of euros a year at a registrar
Hosting a static sitethe files on a CDNoften nothing: AWS CloudFront's free plan covers a million requests a month
Hosting a WordPress sitea server with a databasea monthly package, plus theme and plugin updates
Email on your domainyou@yourbusiness.comGoogle Workspace Business Starter from 6.80 euros per user per month on a yearly plan, excluding VAT
Changesnew pages, copy, featuresonly when you need them, priced up front

A custom site without plugins has no updates you must pay someone to install. If you compare against a builder, read Wix pricing in euro for the full bill, and how long a website takes to build for the time it costs you. Prefer to pay monthly? The sum is in pay monthly website packages.

How to compare website quotes

  1. Put them side by side per part. Pages, languages, features, copy, images, redirects. A quote that does not split them hides where the money goes.
  2. Ask who writes the copy. If you write it, add your own hours to the price.
  3. Ask what happens in year two. Hosting, updates, licences and changes.
  4. Ask who owns what. Domain, hosting account, code and Search Console in your name.
  5. Ask for live sites. Open them on your phone, run our website speed test and our SEO checker on them.

Our website brief template lists the questions that set the price, so every agency quotes the same thing.

A site for your sector

What a site has to do differs per sector, and so does where it lands on the scale: a contractor wants requests with photos of the job, a holiday home wants direct bookings, a law firm wants trust and a page per practice area. Start from the page closest to your business:

What buyers abroad ask about the price

Do you quote in pounds or dollars?
We quote and invoice in euros. A business client in another EU country with a valid VAT number is invoiced without Belgian VAT under the reverse charge; how Belgian invoices handle that is on our page about web design in Ghent.
What is not in the calculator?
Running costs: your domain name, hosting and mailboxes on your domain. The table above lists them; for a static site the hosting is often free.
Can we start small and add languages later?
Yes. Start with the pages that bring the most in, and add services, markets or languages once the first clients arrive. Planning a second language from the start makes it cheaper to add, because menus and addresses already make room for it.
Why does the calculator not show an amount per option?
Because two sites with the same choices can differ: ten short pages are less work than five pages with a calculator. The tool shows where you fall and what pushes the price up; the fixed price comes after a call.

How VBS turns your result into a fixed price

Fill in the calculator above; your choices travel along into the contact form. In a call we pin down the pages, languages, features and who writes the copy, and you get a fixed price per part. A site is usually live in two to six weeks, and you follow the build on a test link. What is in every site we build is on our website design page; for online sales, see webshop development. Proof that a site on the right search terms pays back: Business Centrum went from 220 to 10,200 Google impressions a day in five weeks. Book a call and tell us what your site has to bring in.

Know where you fall? Then let us make it a fixed price.

Tell us briefly what you do and what your site has to bring in.

Optional, if you prefer a call.

What do you want to achieve, and what is already there?

We only use your details to reply to you.
