Web design Ninove
Web design in Ninove
For contractors and traders in a town where construction is the largest sector, and Brussels is half an hour away.

A town of builders
Web design in Ninove is first of all about construction. Ninove has 40,879 residents, and of the 3,562 companies with their seat in the town at the end of 2025, 730 were construction firms: more than the professions and more than retail. Of those, 569 are specialist contractors, from roofers and joiners to electricians and tilers. In most Flemish towns construction is the second or third sector. In Ninove it is the first.
| Companies in Ninove, end of 2025 | Number |
|---|---|
| Construction | 730 |
| Professional and technical services | 588 |
| Retail and car repair | 527 |
| Other services | 251 |
| Administrative services | 237 |
| Hospitality | 207 |
Ninove also renewed its shopping centre in 2024, and the town supports people opening a business there. So two kinds of site: one for the contractor who works across the Dender region, and one for the trader who opens in the renewed centre. This page covers both, for owners who run their business in English as well as Dutch: a contractor who came from abroad and built a team here, or a newcomer opening a shop in the centre. Most of your customers will speak Dutch, many in the Brussels direction French, and a growing number English.

A page about a town, with its employers in it
For Business Centrum, a payroll office from Ghent, we wrote a page per town in East Flanders, Ninove included, in four languages: which employers are there, with construction first, and what they ask about staff. The picture shows the English key figures page of the same site.
Partly because of that, Business Centrum got 46 times as many impressions in five weeks. A Ninove contractor needs no page about Ninove, but a site that shows his work in Ninove, Meerbeke and Okegem.
A site for a contractor in the Dender region
A Ninove contractor rarely works only in Ninove. His sites are in Denderleeuw, Liedekerke, Geraardsbergen, the Pajottenland, sometimes in Brussels. People searching type the work and their town: 'dakwerken denderleeuw' (roofing), 'badkamer renovatie ninove' (bathroom renovation). A site with a page per kind of work and projects with place and date is found on those searches.
- Choose a page per kind of work ifyou do more than one thing: roofing, facade renovation and bathrooms each deserve their own page with their own photos.
- Choose a calculator ifyou get many requests of which half do not go ahead. A first price on the site filters out who really wants to build.
- Choose a request with photos ifyou would otherwise have to visit first to give a price.
What a contractor's site looks like is on website for contractors; how a construction firm gets found, on marketing for construction companies. If your planning and work orders are still on paper, look at software for construction companies.
What a request form for a contractor should ask
A request that ends with 'give me a call' costs a site visit before you know whether the project is anything. A good form asks what you need to give a first price range:
| Question in the form | Why you ask it |
|---|---|
| Kind of work and the surface | a roof of 60 m² is a different quote from one of 160 m² |
| Address or town | to see whether it is in your area |
| Photos of the current state | so you see what must go and what stays |
| Desired start | to know whether it fits your planning |
| Budget range | so you do not make an expensive quote for someone who wants something else |
With those answers you send a range within the day, and only visit people who really want to build. Such a form comes with every contractor's site we build, in each language you offer.
When a French or English version pays off
Ninove is on the border with Flemish Brabant, half an hour from Brussels. Many residents commute to the capital, and contractors get requests from Brussels municipalities where French is the first language, and from expats who live in the green towns around Brussels and read English first.
- Choose a French version ifa noticeable share of your requests come from Brussels or the Pajottenland in French, and you can answer in French.
- Choose an English version ifexpats and international families ask you for work, or you are an English-speaking owner who wants that market.
- Stay in Dutch ifyour sites are mostly in the Dender region. Put the money into more pages per kind of work instead.
A French or English version is its own version with its own titles, linked with hreflang; read our page on multilingual website development. In every language a Belgian contractor's site shows the company number, and quotes for consumers include VAT; renovation of a home older than ten years often qualifies for 6 percent VAT, which your accountant confirms per job.

Twelve villages, twelve places to search
Ninove consists of twelve villages: besides Ninove itself also Appelterre-Eichem, Aspelare, Denderwindeke, Lieferinge, Meerbeke, Nederhasselt, Neigem, Okegem, Outer, Pollare and Voorde. Someone in Outer who wants a new driveway often types the name of their village, not the town. A contractor who worked there shows that with the project itself, with a photo and a short explanation.
| What you put with a project | Why it counts |
|---|---|
| The kind of work, in your client's words | that is what they search for |
| The village or town | so people see you work in their area |
| The year, or the month | recent work convinces more than an album from ten years ago |
| A before and after photo | the difference is your best argument |
| How long it took | a client wants to know what to expect |
Five projects with those details do more than fifty photos without explanation. They also give Google the place names that a list at the bottom of your page never makes credible.
The commuter as a client
People who commute to Brussels every day look for a tradesman or a shop close to home in the evening or at the weekend. They want to book online or send a request, without calling during working hours. A request form that works at eight in the evening too, and a quick confirmation by email, make the difference. For a hairdresser, a garage or an installer in Ninove that is often the client with the biggest budget.
Opening in the renewed shopping centre
Ninove gives starters a grant of 500 euros, plus 3,000 euros in the core shopping area or 1,500 euros in the surrounding shopping streets. Whoever renovates a shop unit can get 50 percent of the costs back, up to 7,500 euros for the front. Read the rules on ninove.be before you sign for premises: the zone and the moment of applying set the amount. The rules are in Dutch; the town's economy desk helps if you do not read it.
The grants pay for your start and your shop front, not your site. But whoever opens in the centre needs a site and a Google profile on opening day: hours, range, address and photos of the new front. See create a Google Business Profile, and for the first reviews the Google review link generator. For the online side itself, Flanders is the address; what still runs is in Flanders digitalisation grants.
What Ninove sites cost
| In Ninove | What you need | Range on the market |
|---|---|---|
| New shop in the core shopping area | a page with hours, range and the new front | 500 to 1,500 euros |
| Contractor with a page per kind of work | roofing, facades, bathrooms apart | 2,000 to 6,000 euros |
| Contractor who wants to give a first price | a calculator on top | at the top of that range or above |
| Trader who also ships | products, payment, delivery | 4,000 to 15,000 euros or more |
Those amounts exclude VAT. We start at 1,500 euros for custom work, and after a meeting on your site or in your shop you get a fixed price. Try combinations yourself in the website cost calculator or put offers side by side with compare website quotes.
What we built for a construction company
For SN Group, a construction company in Ghent for new builds and renovation, we built a site in two languages, Dutch and English, with nine service pages, projects, a cost calculator and an EPC calculation, and four checks on grants, the renovation obligation, permits and VAT. A visitor gets a first price and an answer to their questions before calling. SN is in Ghent, not Ninove; a Ninove contractor can use the same parts. The case is on SN Group.
From Ghent to Ninove
Our office is on the Sint-Baafsplein in Ghent, 43 kilometres and 35 minutes by car from Ninove; by train it takes just under an hour, with a change. We do the first meeting at your place, at the office or on a building site, in English or Dutch. The way we work everywhere is at website design.
