One agency for your site, SEO, ads, social media and email, with one plan and one monthly report. It works when a named specialist runs each channel.

A full service marketing agency runs SEO, paid ads, social media, email and often the website for one company, under one plan with one report. For a small business that means one contact person and one budget conversation. The agency still needs a named specialist behind each channel, or the plan stays shallow.

One agency for every channel, or a specialist per channel

Both routes work. The difference sits in who keeps the plan together.

Plan
One full service agencyOne plan across channels, built on one goal
Separate specialistsA plan per channel; you connect them yourself
Reporting
One full service agencyOne report that starts from your enquiries or sales
Separate specialistsSeveral reports that can each claim the same customer
Budget shifts
One full service agencyBudget moves between channels within the month
Separate specialistsEach shift needs a talk with two suppliers
Depth
One full service agencyGood when each channel has its own named specialist
Separate specialistsDeep in one channel by design
Your time

Separate specialistsA contact and a meeting per supplier
Weak spot
One full service agencyA channel the agency resells and never touches
Separate specialistsNobody owns the result across channels

Pick one agency when three or more channels run at once and nobody on your side coordinates them. Pick specialists when one channel carries the business or your own team leads the plan.

What does a full service marketing agency include?

A full service marketing agency covers the channels a company uses to find and keep customers, plus the site those channels point to. The exact list differs per agency, so ask for it in writing and check which parts the agency does itself and which it buys from partners.

Part of the workWhat it does for a small businessWhere VBS describes it
Website or webshopGives every channel a page to land on, in each languageWebsite design, webshop development
SEOBrings visitors who search for your service without paying per clickSEO, local SEO
Search adsPuts you above the results for searches with buying intentGoogle Ads
Social adsReaches people by place, interest or job titleFacebook and Instagram ads

EmailBrings past customers and leads backEmail marketing
VideoMakes the reels, ads and films the other channels needCorporate video
Tracking and reportingTies every channel to enquiries or salesPart of each service, in one monthly report

Some agencies add software: a client portal, a quote tool or an automation that saves office hours. That belongs in the scope only when the marketing depends on it, for instance a booking flow that ads send people to. The work behind it is on custom software and AI automation.

Is a full service agency better than a specialist?

A full service agency is better when channels depend on each other and nobody in your company has time to coordinate several suppliers. A specialist is better when one channel carries most of your sales and needs more depth than a broad team can give it. Many companies grow from one to the other: a specialist for the first channel, a full-service partner once three or four channels run at the same time.

The wider choice between a person and a team is in freelancer or agency, and the cost factors of agency work are in digital agency cost.

Testing whether one agency really covers every channel

Many agencies call themselves full service while one channel carries the firm and the rest is resold. A short test in the first meeting shows which kind you are talking to. Ask the agency to open, on screen, a live ads account, a Search Console property where its SEO work shows and a social calendar from a current client. Then ask who built each one, by name.

Ask also how the channels share one goal. A good answer names one measure, such as the cost per enquiry, that every channel reports on, and explains how budget moves from a weak channel to a strong one during the month. The questions to ask any agency before signing are listed in how to choose a marketing agency, with separate checks in how to choose an SEO agency and how to choose a social media marketing agency.

Why one plan and one report matter

One plan stops the channels from competing for the same customer. When SEO, ads and social media run at separate agencies, each one tends to claim the same sale, and the totals in three reports add up to more customers than you had. A single report that starts from your enquiries or orders, and then shows which channel brought each one, gives one figure you can trust.

The plan should also say what each channel does in the year. Search ads catch demand that exists today; SEO builds the same reach for later without a cost per click; social media and video make the name familiar so that people search for it. A full-service agency can shift budget between those roles, for instance more ads in a quiet SEO month, without a new contract.

Working with a Belgian agency in English, from home or abroad

A Belgian full-service agency can work in English with an expat founder or the Belgian branch of a foreign company, and still publish in Dutch and French. Belgium has three official languages, Dutch, French and German, and English is widely spoken without being one of them. Ask which languages the agency writes in natively and which it has checked by a native speaker.

For invoices, a company registered in another EU country that buys services from a Belgian agency usually pays the VAT at home through the reverse charge, so the invoice carries no Belgian VAT. A Belgian company pays Belgian VAT on the invoice. The VAT number of either side can be checked with the EU VAT number check. For a site in two national languages, read website in French and Dutch.

Software when the marketing depends on it

For Business Centrum, VBS also built the management platform behind the site, with a client portal where employers see their staff and reports. The picture shows the office side of that platform: employees per employer, from a demo database.

Software only enters the plan when a channel needs it, such as a portal that clients log in to after an ad. How the platform came together is described in the Business Centrum platform case.

One page that serves three audiences

For Plus One Fieldmarketing, which puts student staff on campaigns, VBS built a one-pager with a route for applicants, for new clients and for partners. Each route ends in its own enquiry.

A site like that gives every channel a place to send people: a vacancy ad to the applicant route, a LinkedIn post to the client route. More in the Plus One case.

Full service in a few answers

Which marketing agency can manage SEO, paid advertising and social media?

A full service marketing agency with a named specialist for SEO, for ads and for social media can manage all three. Test it by asking to see a live ads account, a Search Console property and a social calendar from one current client. VBS in Ghent is one option, and it also builds the site the channels point to.

Is a full service agency better than a specialist?

A full service agency is better when several channels run at once and nobody in your company coordinates them. A specialist is better when one channel carries most of your sales. The table on this page matches each situation to a choice.

What does a full service marketing agency include?

A full service marketing agency usually includes the website, SEO, search ads, social ads, social media management, email and video, with one report across them. Some also build software such as a client portal. Ask which parts the agency does itself and which it buys in.

Does one agency cost more than separate specialists?

Whether one agency costs more depends on the scope: with one agency the coordination sits in the fee, with specialists it costs your own time. The comparison only works on the same list of channels, languages and content. The cost factors are in digital agency cost.

How VBS covers the whole plan

VBS is a marketing agency in Ghent that builds the site, the software and the marketing on top of them. More than 1,700 URLs are live across the client sites VBS built, in five languages, and eleven domains send their forms through one shared form service that VBS runs. VBS plans and reports with AMOSI, its own marketing software. For Business Centrum, the site and the SEO came from the same team: non-brand terms on page one went from 13 to 1,593 in five weeks.

VBS fits a small or mid-sized company in Belgium that wants its site and its channels in one hand, often in Dutch, French and English. VBS fits less well for a company that needs radio, TV or print campaigns, or that only wants extra hands for one channel its own team already runs. Agencies by city are on marketing agency in Brussels and marketing agency in Antwerp; to start, book a call.
